Scenery looks amazing! Glad you shared duder!

Is there much training involved before you take on an expedition like this?

Well my family did a fair bit but I missed 50% of it. It really depends on how fit you are to start with and how many days you are going for. Also most people don't carry big back packs with there gear, they hire porters which are less than $25 (Australian) a day haha.

But in my example we did a 24 day walk and I carried somewhere around 12-15kg in my backpack. Most people would fly into lukla then walk up to basecamp and kalapatar then walk back to lukla and fly home. That's around 10 days of walking to do that.

Haha at least 5kg maybe more of fat but I don't have such small chicken legs any more. But I got sick and didn't eat for 4 days and I was vomiting and had diarrhoea. Had a bad case of good poisoning or a flew. That's also one of the downsides of walking from jiri, the good and accommodation is getting run down because they don't have much business because everyone flies in to lukla.
Anyway that's enough of my life story haha.

Non of us got it too bad as we walked in from jiri which had a lot of days going to high altitude then descending a long way. I saw at least 4 people get flown out by helicopter from it though. I didn't take diamox either but most people take it to help with altitude sickness.
