I know there's plenty of fellas on here that take photos and there's probably a heap more that take photos and not post them, just seeing if there's enough interest in just general photography chat.

I've starting playing with an 1100d again. I had fun with it trying to learn about it, then using it in Japan but as soon as I got back I ran out of shit to take pictures of. It's been fun picking it up again though. I just have the kit lens and usually use a 50mm. I was looking into getting a 40mm at reading how perfect they are for just general street photography but realised tonight they mean for full frame cameras. I might be better off persisting with the 50.

What gear does everyone have our use? I'm sure there's plenty of non-car photography around here too, post it up.

Since the 1100D is a x1.6 crop, the 50mm will be actually b a 80mm.

I currently have a 5D3 with a 24-70mm, 17-40mm & a 70-200mm. They don't get used very often these days though.

Aside from automotive photography, I started getting into some astro stuff.

Yeah that's super cool. Astrophotography interests me but doesn't seem doable with my current setup. I started looking at 5d mk1 bodies but I'm obviously much better off saving my money and just using what I've got.

5D and a ef 20mm is my main go to using monopod, easy as to get a good pic of nearly anything.

Have mixture of lens but always end up back on the 20mm.
Will post some pics up on my comp when I'm home.
